We are pleased to let law students know that we are recruiting 2L students for Summer 2018 positions in our Toronto office. We may also consider applicants who are interested in placements in our Yellowknife office.
OKT welcomes applications from law students entering their second year of law school who have a demonstrated commitment to Indigenous rights and who have solid academic records. The ability to speak an Indigenous language and/or experience living in and/or working for Indigenous communities is a particular asset.
OKT follows the Law Society of Upper Canada’s student recruitment procedures for Toronto recruitment.
Applications from interested students are due by 5:00 pm EST on August 21, 2017. Please include a cover letter, CV, undergraduate and law school transcripts, and a brief writing sample in your application package. Reference letters are not required. We prefer to receive applications electronically at info@oktlaw.com
We do not participate in the on-campus interview process. Calls to arrange interviews will be made on October 27, 2017 and interviews will take place November 6-8 2017. Please note that OKT does not hold cocktail parties or dinners during interview week.
We will conduct interviews by Skype for those students unable to travel to Toronto. Please let us know in your cover letter if you anticipate wanting to interview by Skype. We are able to accommodate students requiring human rights accommodations.
While we thank all students for their interest, we regret to say that only those students selected for an interview will be contacted.
Information about OKT recruitment generally can be found on our careers page. We look forward to meeting some of you in Fall 2017!
