Tania Talebzadeh-Takiyeh is an Associate at OKT. 

Tania has experience working in a variety of legal settings primarily focused on Indigenous law development. This work includes consulting various Tribal Councils in corporate restructuring and Child and Family law development. She has also built Justice programs supporting the implementation of Indigenous laws throughout release mechanisms and drafted amici curiae (“friend of the court” documents) on International Indigenous guardianship over waterways.

Before law school, Tania received a Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Race Studies from the University of British Columbia. She studied law at the University of Victoria where she was among the second graduating cohort of the Joint Degree Law Program in Common Law and Indigenous Legal Orders (JD/JID). She is the first Iranian to complete the JD/JID program.

Tania has spent time in OKT’s Yellowknife office working with clients in the Northwest Territories.

Tania is a member of the Ontario bar.
