Nancy Jones is an Associate at OKT. She joined the firm at the end of her articles in 2022.

Nancy received her JD from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she won an award for highest standing in Climate Change Law. While at Osgoode, she participated in two Anishinaabe law camps, first at Neyaashiinigmiing with Chippewas of Nawash (Cape Crocker) Unceded First Nation and then at Mnjikaning (Rama) First Nation.

Nancy also participated in the Intensive Program in Aboriginal Lands, Resources and Governance and did her placement at the First Nations Summit in British Columbia, where she is from.

Nancy worked in Indigenous communities in British Columbia and Nunavut for fifteen years prior to going law school. She held a variety of positions in the areas of justice, training and employment, early childhood education, and social services.

These experiences inspired her to pursue a law degree, to use the Canadian law as a means to support Indigenous peoples and communities regain autonomy, jurisdiction and land.
